What is Hewlett Packard Enterprise?
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has started trading. Apart from its ‘Enterprise’ distinction what does it really offer its customers and how will it work with HP Inc., the new personal computing and printer division.
HPE as it is known on the New York Stock Exchange - starts business with a U$53 billion turn-over and what is claimed to be the most comprehensive product portfolio in the industry and a unique vision for the future of technology and its benefits for enterprise customers.
Nick Wilson, General Manager, Enterprise Services and Managing Director, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, South Pacific says, “We’re embarking on a new journey with the launch of Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Australia. Building on our rich heritage of innovation and unrivalled technology portfolio, we’re excited to reinvigorate our relationship with customers, partners and employees. We’re also renewing our commitment to be the partner of choice for customers in Australia to help propel their business further, faster.”Yes, but what does it really do?
HPE is an industry leading technology company that enables customers to go further, faster. With the industry’s most comprehensive portfolio, spanning the cloud to the data centre to workplace applications, our technology and services help customers around the world make IT more efficient, more productive and more secure.We get a little closer with this.
HPE is an industry leader in infrastructure, services, software, and financial services. It provides the cutting-edge technology solutions customers need to optimise their traditional IT while helping them build the secure, cloud enabled, mobile-ready future that is uniquely suited to their needs.
The company is focused on four key areas that are fundamental to enabling business transformation and future growth, and represent an estimated (based on third party data) total addressable market of more than US$1 trillion:
- Transforming to a hybrid infrastructure by helping customers seamlessly manage information across traditional IT and private, managed and public cloud environments;
- Empowering a data-driven organisation engineered to turn information into insight and insight into action;
- Protecting their digital enterprise to manage risk, monitor operations, protect information and applications and sustain operational integrity;
- Enabling workplace productivity to create best-in-class experiences for employees, customers and partners through mobility and networking solutions.
But the web site is really more informative.
It has a state-of-the-art HPE Security Operations Centre in Sydney that provides Australian enterprises day-to-day security management and protection against growing cybercrime attacks. The Centre is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year by dedicated security teams with deep knowledge of local regulatory requirements.
Aurora is its next-generation $200 million data centre in Western Sydney delivering a range of comprehensive IT services to support emerging and future technologies, accelerating Australian businesses in modern facilities spanning 130,000 square metres
Essentially HPE is a service and solutions organisation that, with its strategic alliances, can handle almost every need of large enterprises to rethink and transform their IT by implementing a mobile-first, cloud/hybrid-first, data-first, secure-first, customer-first, future. It can handle business transformation which is a necessity in this rapidly changing world.
And how does it work with HP Inc.
Closely. HPE will recommend products based on fit-for-purpose and obviously recommend HP Inc., where appropriate. But like Microsoft and its partners it is largely OS and hardware agnostic. It wants to be the principal contactor – your one point of contact for your computing ecosystem.
This may have an impact on HP Inc., but from what I can see its ramping up its consumer and enterprise offerings and putting the sexy back into personal computer and printer design.
